Kenya National Action Plan (KNAP) 2016–2018 for the Implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 and Related Resolutions

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325), unanimously adopted on 31 October 2000, recognizes the centrality of gender in approaches to international peace and security and addresses the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women. This groundbreaking resolution places the security concerns of women in situations of armed conflict and their roles in peacebuilding on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council - the most powerful international multilateral security institution.

Women Active and Engaged in the fight against climate change

On 16 October, the Government of France, host of the twenty-first Conference of the Parties (COP 21), organized a conference entitled, Climate Change: Women Take the Lead€. This meeting culminated in a Declaration, Women, key actors in the fight against climate change, which highlighted the unmistakable need to integrate gender equality as a key consideration in the Paris Accord at COP 21.
