Today, Kericho county joined the rest of the world in celebrating 16 days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence. The event organised by UN Women, Unilever Tea Kenya Ltd in conjunction with the County Government of Kericho,was preceded by a brief but elaborate ceremony of lighting and passing on of a torch as a symbol of spreading the message of ending violence against women and girls. The Ag.Deputy Governor, Eng. Philip Mason who presided over the event reiterated the county government's commitment in maintaining close partnership with other stakeholders in the fight against any form of women injustices. The 16 days of activism whose theme is "Leave No One Behind: End Violence against Women and Girls", will culminate in International Human Rights Day scheduled to be marked on December 10th.
